Compared yo the other Brazilian steak houses, this one fell a bit flat with their food. I felt that the salad bar was lacking. Not much to choose from. Not many premium cuts were seved, and some cuts had a tremendous amount of fat. Thie side were bland as well. Now the service was impeccable! Some of the best service I have never experienced. The cocktails were delicious - try the one with the mango, you'll love it. And to top off the night the server recommend the passion fruit mousse. WOW. Outta this world amazing. I'd go back just for that desert. I recommend, but maybe next time the cuts of meat will be better???

My husband and I were in Minneapolis for the very first time, visiting from Vermont, and luckily we stayed at a hotel that was just a few minutes away from the restaurant. I am Brazilian and therefore a big fan of “churrascarias”. It was a Wednesday late afternoon and the restaurant was almost packed, which was a great sign. At the table we were greeted by Diego, who spoke very good Portuguese, explained the basics and was constantly checking on us. Then Miguel came over and we chatted a little, in Portuguese, and he was great. Told us all about his experience with Brazilians and working at steakhouses. Quite impressive! We also had the opportunity to meet Cristina, from the same Brazilian state as I, and I told her how happy we were with the service and how much it all felt like “home”, from the warm reception to the delicious food, great Brazilian music on the background, as well as great caipirinha and picanha. Not to mention the linguiça!!! Thank you Cristina for the great service and for suggesting the “cheese with honey”, which was new to me but I really liked it My husband and I have been to several “Brazilian” steakhouses in the U.S. as well as around the world along the years, and I can tell you that NOT a single one was as authentic as Fogão Gaucho, in Minneapolis. If you would like to have an amazing dinner with some of the best service I've ever experienced, you will want to eat here. The food has incredible flavor and you won't be waiting long between cuts, as there is a constant stream of service. Our waiter was attentive, charismatic, and even entertaining. He made certain that we had everything we needed.
Overall good experience, was my first time here. Food was generally very good except for a couple cuts which seemed dry, the salad bar was amazing! The servers were really good in making sure they kept us well fed! One very off-putting thing for me was they charged us the automatic gratuity even though we were just 5 people and the menu said it applies to parties 6+. I asked the server politely but she said it applies to 5. Just checking the menu again, it looks like its supposed to be for parties 6 above. This was one very disappointing thing but overall a good experience with halal options!
I cannot sing Fogão Gaúcho’s praises enough! My husband and I came here for a date night, and we were completely blown away by our experience! We have eaten at several Brazilian steakhouses, and the service here was above and beyond what we’ve experienced elsewhere! The moment our drinks went below halfway full, someone was refilling them. Management checked in on our experience multiple times. We were never left waiting for meat. Every single person made us feel welcome and taken care of. The food was fabulous! Everything was seasoned well and prepared perfectly! I will definitely be back again and only wish I could give more than 5 stars.
We celebrated a friend’s birthday here, and it was honestly the best experience ever! From the moment we walked in, we felt so welcomed. The food was absolutely amazing—everything was delicious, fresh, and they always made sure we had plenty of meat at our table. Our waiter Diego was incredible. He was so attentive and friendly, always checking in to make sure we were doing well and asking if we needed anything. He made us feel completely taken care of all night. Pepe was fantastic too (he’s the one with the red tie in our photos!)—he was so professional and kind, making sure we were also happy and had everything we needed. The service was truly next-level. Even the owner came by to talk to us! He was so warm and welcoming, really taking the time to chat with customers and make sure everyone felt at home. This place knows how to make a celebration special. We all left so happy and impressed. If you’re looking for amazing food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere, you have to come here. We’ll definitely be back
Fogão Gaúcho was good, but not as good as we hoped. We liked the overall experience, and the service was friendly, but it didn’t quite measure up to their main competitor. A few of the meats missed the mark. We asked for medium rare and got well done. Another time we asked for medium and got rare. None of it was bad, just not as consistent as we expected. The salad bar was impressive with a wide variety of sides, all looking fresh and well stocked. The drinks were actually really good, which helped round things out. The atmosphere was nice and it still felt like a special occasion kind of place. One thing that really stood out was an employee named Pepe. He was working nonstop, checking on tables, helping run food, clearing plates, and making sure everyone was taken care of. We actually thought he was the manager based on how involved and efficient he was, but found out he isn’t. It’s rare to see someone working that hard and doing it well enough to stand out. He absolutely deserves recognition and should be considered for a raise or promotion. Overall, it was a good meal and a solid experience. We’d go back, but probably after trying a few other places first. It’s a 4 out of 5. Good, just not our favorite.
